iiershello, I've a question regarding the cloudfoundry platform: How to use a wildfly uberjar with the cloudfoundry platform?09:15
iiersI'm using the java buildpack and while pushing the jar file I think the following is happening09:18
ytanabeiiers, I don't know cf very well, but I think this thomasmey repository helps you.09:19
ytanabehttps://github.com/thomasmey/einkaufsliste-server09:19
iiersthe jar file is extracted and pushed to the DEA, so when I extarct the swam.jar with jar xf xxx-swam.jar and do a java -cp . org.wildfly.swarm.bootstrap.Main I get the same stacktrace as I see in the cf logs09:19
iiershello ytanabe, guess my name :-)09:20
iiersso I wonder is it a bug or feature that you cannot run an unpacked wildfly-swarm uber jar file?09:26
ytanabeytanabe, ah, this repo is yours? Hmm, I've not done it(java -cp ... Main). I don't know I can help you, but I'll try it.09:26
iiersyes, i'm thomasmey09:26
iiersI'm actually looking at this https://dzone.com/articles/deploying-spring-boot - i.e. how does spring boot do it09:28
jbossbotTitle: Deploying a Spring Boot Application to Cloud Foundry with Spring-Cloud - DZone Java09:28
iiersbut in the documenatation the push command is "cf push spring-boot-mvc-test -p target/spring-boot-mvc-test-1.0.0-SNAPSHOT.war --no-start" which wouldn't work on IBM bluemix environment as a WAR file seems to automatically select the ibm libertry buildpack...09:29
iiersi'll also ask in ibm bluemix support forum09:31
ytanabeiiers, Ah, I misunderstood, java -jar your-swarm.jar and java -cp ... org.wildfly.swarm.bootstrap.Main are the same result?09:33
iiersytanabe: java -jar -swarm.jar works correctly, but exploding the jar file in a directory and trying to start the exploded jar with cp . doesn't seem to work09:34
ytanabeiiers, you mean, in cf(or IBM Bluemix), it needs to explode your jar?09:37
iiersthat's what it seems to do when pushing with -p option pointing to a jar file. Maybe there are other ways to push an application I'm actually looking at https://docs.cloudfoundry.org/devguide/deploy-apps/manifest.html09:39
jbossbotTitle: Deploying with Application Manifests | Cloud Foundry Docs09:39
iiersthe idea is actually a good one, because CF hashed the content of all files, so when you reuploading a changed jar file it will investiagte all files and check the hashes and only will upload files that differ09:42
iiersI'm currently pushing a directory which only contains the -swarm.jar file via "cf push" maybe this works, but with this solution I would have to push 95 Mibibyte each time09:43
iiers Maybe the spring-boot stuff only works because the java_buildpack has support for it? https://github.com/cloudfoundry/java-buildpack/blob/master/config/spring_boot_cli.yml09:53
iiersno, above way of pushing a jar in a directory doesn't work with the java-buildpack, I created this issue against the java-buildpack - https://github.com/cloudfoundry/java-buildpack/issues/26911:03
jbossbotgit issue [java-buildpack] (open) thomasmey Pushing a wildfly-warm up to cf fails to start the application when using the java-buildpack https://github.com/cloudfoundry/java-buildpack/issues/26911:03
iiersI thinks this problem needs to be resolved on the cf side, i.e. the java-buildpack11:03
